Our first trip to Europe — namely to the CENTRAL HOTEL in Loutraki. We holidayed as two families: Olya and I, and a friend (who is also a colleague) with his wife and daughter.
We landed as usual, went through passport control and made our way to the CENTRAL HOTEL. The hotel is small, and check-in was quick.
Our room was on the 3rd floor. The room is small but cosy. The furniture is old; the room has an old TV, a fridge and 2 single beds. The bathroom has mini toiletries. There is also a small window in the bathroom that is used for ventilation. There is a small balcony, which in our case faced the courtyard. We went out onto it every morning and evening. The buildings stand so close together that we often met an elderly lady on the balcony of the neighbouring building. She spoke Greek, French and just a little English. As it turned out, it was her hotel. She often tossed cherries and apricots over to us from her balcony. We also often saw her sitting at a table at reception.
Service. The staff are very attentive, always smile and say hello — even if you walk past reception for the twentieth time today, they will be sure to smile and greet you for the 20th time. Cleaning of the room is daily and thorough. Sometimes they washed the floor with bleach and opened the door and windows to air the room. Looking ahead, reception gave us a free flyer with a discount for the spa in the town’s spa centre.
Breakfasts. The breakfasts were monotonous with little choice, but it was enough for a hearty snack.

The hotel’s location. The CENTRAL HOTEL is located at El. Venizelou 35, Loutraki 203 00, Greece. It is on the second line from the sea (2 blocks down, and the blocks are small) — up to a 5-minute leisurely walk. The beach is large pebbles; better buy water shoes, as walking barefoot hurts. The town is very small. One evening we decided to walk around the town and accidentally ended up outside it. The hotel is in the centre of town, and it makes no difference which way you go: to get out of town you need to walk at a leisurely pace for about 30 minutes. There are 3 supermarkets in town, where we shopped for our evening get-togethers on the balcony.
The hotel is better suited to a quiet, relaxing holiday.
